Words from Michael Hsu Office of Architecture: It was important for this design to represent Westlake Dermatology’s established brand and unique approach to dermatology for their introduction to the Houston market. Soaring curves, soft edges and sculpted ceilings found in the space were inspired by both the Mediterranean and the human form. Large windows take advantage of natural light, which is maximized by tall wall and ceiling forms. Millwork is used to create unique hardware and custom screening elements help divide the space and add texture. A palette of natural materials including plaster, white oak, terrazzo, marble, leather and brass provide a soothing and spa-like atmosphere for patients and staff.
